In his book, Outliers – The Story of Success, Malcolm Gladwell come up with facts about success. His conclusion? Successful people train themselves. They apply the 10,000 hours rule. They get opportunity – or create opportunity.  Success doesn’t not only depends on one’s nature, it also depends on the ‘nurture’.

If you want to be successful and a real master in anything, there is the 10,000 hour rules you have to follow. Spend 10,000 hours doing something and you will be master in that particular thing or skill. Bill Gates started working on his programming skills since his childhood days, whenever he got the chance to use any shared computer. The same goes with Steve Job, Bill Joy and many others – in fact they were born around the same period of time – around the year 1955!

You don’t have to wish that you were also born during those years to be a master of computer programming.

The opportunities are always there – provided that you live in the area where computer exists. If you were born in 1955, but with no computer, there is no way you can become like Bill Gates.

Successful people had the opportunity to train themselves in what they became after.

If you want to be successful, find or get involve in that particular opportunity. Find that 10,000 hours so you can be expert in that field. You can’t make it on your own. You need to attend training or connected with those experts. Then success is on your way.
